Colinde Romanesti 2 – Nicaieri nu-i ca acasa

PAGINA cu COLINDE click aici.

Este estimat (in Wikipedia) ca sunt aproximativ 8 milioane de Romani in diaspora (in afara Romaniei si a Moldovei). Fiecare ne-am nascut in neamul in care Dumnezeu ne-a rinduit.

Îngerul i -a zis: ,,Nu te teme, Marie; căci ai căpătat îndurare înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

Îngerul i -a răspuns: ,,Duhul Sfînt Se va pogorî peste tine, şi puterea Celui Prea Înalt te va umbri.

A poem – Christmas Mystery

Christmas Mystery

He who forged Earth’s iron core
And scattered stars to distant skies
Came shattered beauty to restore
And answer lost ones’ mournful cries.
A God who stands among the weak
To lift each burden that they face,
To lift away their bondage bleak
And give them strength in holy grace.

The star of hope for all the years,
Though spoken of through ages past,
Lies born in dust and blood and tears
Without His glorious trumpets’ blast.
Yet in His tiny hand He holds
The power that built the mountains high.
His glory shatters earthly molds
As angels’ voices split the sky.

The angel heralds call out clear
To tell us of the infant King
Who comes to crush the power of fear
And let the notes of justice ring.
Yet first He comes to serve and die,
Not yet to take His rightful place,
That those who chose to crucify
Their King might still receive His grace.

He calls us now with signs and stars
To find the Child born a King,
To give Him all that once was ours,
And songs of love and praise to sing.
So as we journey through the night
And seek our true Desire’s star
We find that Jesus, through His might
Has sought us from our exile far.

The most ‘viral’ Christmas video of all times

One of the blog readers (Gabi Bogdan) mentioned watching this video that I posted Dec. 12, so out of curiosity I went to the Youtube site to see how many people watched it in the 2 weeks since it got posted. Can you believe that a whopping     1,676,000    people watched this video in 14 days?

Who says Christians aren’t at the forefront of music and technology. I read that some of these guys  had to borrow iPhones and iPads (because they are musicians/worship leaders and not all could afford them) they downloaded apps for certain instruments like guitar, piano, drums, saxaphone, and I can’t tell what some of the other instrument apps are, and then they practiced and practiced to play these Christmas carols. By now they have  been featured in dozens of tech magazines and CNNMoney. Way to go Northpoint Community Church, pastored by Andy Stanley (he is Charles Stanley’s son).

So I am reposting it. Watch it to the end, it’s worth it. And pass it on to your friends.

R.C.Sproul – The Virgin Birth – How important is it?

The Annunciation. Luke 1:31-33 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

How do you explain to someone, or to your children, the significance of the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and what importance do you attach to it?

Down below is the link to a powerful and informative sermon by American Theologian R.C.Sproul. In his message, R.C. Sproul states, “Who Jesus was, and is, has considerable influence on what it was He did.” Sproul says leaving a church should never be a small matter, and we should be careful not to go hopping around for churches. On the other hand, he says that there is a time, if and when in a church, the word of God is trampled under foot and the church denies a central truth of the Christian faith, then he states- not only ‘may‘ you leave- but, you ‘must’ leave.

The virgin birth of Jesus Christ is one such biblical truth that must not be denied, for, denying the virgin birth results in denying the deity of Jesus Christ.

Listen to the message here: R.C. Sproul – The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ

and listen to it with your kids, even if they are of a younger age  they will understand most aspects of this message, including the part towards the end when R.C.Sproul recounts how a christian Professor he once had, told him the reason angels were mentioned in the Bible was to speak to the ‘primitive’ minds of the people of that age, because science had not revolutionized the world at that point in time. Sproul then goes on to recount his own search of the Bible on the subject of angels, and coming up with a completely different answer.

It is important for our young people, and even our younger kids to be confident about what they believe, by reading the Bible and understanding it. They will most certainly be confronted by many issues such as these, and they must be ready to defend their faith. It is my ardent desire to be able to post sermons and messages that will build up our faith and give us solid reasons for our reasonings (apologetics). The Word of God, if you have read some of the previous posts, is not only present nourishment for our souls, but throughout history it has been a powerful force for all that is good (the building of cathedrals/schools, literacy throughout the world, hospitals, art, music,etc.). Let us dwell on the Word of God.

John 20:29

Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Christmas reading by Mark Driscoll and How many Kings stepped down from their thrones?

I watched this video as Mark Driscoll reads from Micah and Luke 2:8-21 from Bethlehem inside the House of Bread where traditions holds, and it is believed Mary gave birth to Jesus. As he reads the Bible a group who is also visiting that Church breaks out in song. They sing ‘O ce veste minunata’. They are Romanian! What are the odds?

Thanks to Angie V. for sending this video of Downhere singing ‘How many Kings stepped down from their thrones. I think this is my new, favorite Christmas song  for the year. The words are uplifting!

Christmas song…peace on earth

heart shaped world via Weird Awesomw Atuffs

with the celebration of the birth of Jesus upon us here is a song celebrating the coming of the Prince of Peace:

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Christmas Bells by Henry Wadsworth

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Till, ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The Carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
‘There is no peace on earth,’ I said;
‘For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!’

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
‘God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!’
