Jesus among other Gods – Ravi Zacharias

In his most important work to date, apologetics scholar and popular speaker Ravi Zacharias shows how the blueprint for life and death itself is found in a true understanding of Jesus. With a simple yet penetrating style, Zacharias uses rich illustrations to celebrate the power of Jesus Christ to transform lives.Jesus Among Other Gods contrasts the truth of Jesus with founders of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, strengthening believers and compelling them to share their faith with our post-modern world.(Editor’s review) Click here for an Encapsulated view of this book which is considered one of the best Christian apologetics books.

Jesus among other gods’ .

Ravi Zacharias: Jesus’s exclusivity is implicit in this claim. We will look at half a dozen questions Jesus answers to those who present these questions to him. No other claimant to divine or prophetic status would have ever answered those questions that way. there is a uniqueness, a marvelous uniqueness and so in this opening session we will be looking at one of those questions that was posed to Him that I have entitled: The anatomy of faith and the quest for reason.

I like the description fratele Lascau gave about ‘laleaua’ calvinista, ca unii sint cu laleaua intreaga, iar altii am luat citeva petale. And I have a relative of mine G.A. who said something very wise, interesting and useful after we had a great conversation upon finding out that we both listened to the same preachers (like you too Gabi) and, though I am arminian (but believe some of the calvinist tenets), he said that obviously we both love Jesus very much because we talk about him constantly and we can’t get enough of his word and resort to reading and listening to extra sermons during the week. Then he said,”You know when we both get to heaven, Jesus is going to turn to each of us and tell us each that we were right, because in everything we were pursuing him”. To me, when it comes to preaching it is never all or nothing. If it was I would be missing out on Romania’s most God loving theologian. (fratele Ton) on one side and all the reformed theologians on the other side. Daca ai vazut scrisoarea deschisa la situl lui Danut Manastireanu(Persona) de o jurnalista, iti dai seama ce influenta a avut Iosif Ton pe toata tara Romana si diaspora. I will publish some very interesting things about fratele Ton soon that everyone (especially people grappling with their failings) will find useful. See, what other blog gives you all that, and in a faith building way? 🙂

thanks for the link. The comments on the other blog were all getting mixed up because they were being approvedmany hours later, so it was hard to understand our ‘conversations’. I read more of IT Calvinist-Armenian venture and I think it comes down to how we each judge can only accept so much of the teaching, and many of us have confusion as to conflicting texts, however IT does preach Christ and God, through the Holy Spirit convicts people of their sins so he is a laborer in the fields. Not sure if you saw my reply either, that was John Piper who preached the ‘If you abide in me-the Jesus message which is identical to the IT message.
This one we’re just going to have to agree to disagree on. Next week I will start posting some arminian and calvinist posts. It’s a very interesting subject, I wish more of our leaders would address in a systematic way.
