Agnus Dei – One year on the internet

God called us all to share  His Gospel in Romans 10:14

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

and He asked us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus in Colossians 3:17,23-

17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 23Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men

I am humbly prayerful and thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him with this blog in this, the first year of venturing to be the vessel that God would want  me to be. One year ago, my beloved dad, who was semi-retired and still served as Associate Pastor at Philadelphia Romanian Church of God in Chicago, Illinois, a church he founded in 1973 and served faithfully while at the same time sponsoring over 4,500 immigrants of different faiths and giving them a jump start in their newly adopted country….this same wonderful man of God who I was blessed to have as a father wanted to write some of his life story as a testament to God’s faithfulness. My dad managed to write a few posts before he became very ill and just this past November 14 went on to be with the Lord He so faithfully served all of his life. Having this blog turned into a big blessing for us as I cared for my dad in the last few months of his life, as we would both sit quietly and listen to sermons, theological debates and other Christian media as he no longer could read for himself because of declining health. What a blessing the internet has become for the homebound, the seriously ill!

The second blessing comes in the form of all the wonderful Christ followers I have met through this blog. This international fellowship gives me a delightful foretaste of the kingdom to come. Christ’s universal church is alive and thriving. People (especially young folks) are hungry for the Word of God and while many of us attend church and read our Bibles, we want to live in the Word every day and every hour. While the internet can be a curse for some, it can certainly become a blessing as we can listen to sermons while we go about doing our work around the house or in our leisure time.

Praise God for blessing small beginnings. I would have never dreamed to have over 170,000 blog pages visited, nor to know that of the 325 videos I posted (which are about 85% sermons) they have been viewed 56,000 times. I am very cognizant of the fact that sometimes people start watching a video, only to turn it off a short time later, yet I am blown away at the numbers not for anything I would have done, but that there is such a hunger for the word of God among His people. And hopefully, along the way -reading the word helped someone make a better decision for Christ. I don’t usually have much time to look at statistics, however one time I clicked on one of the google words that brought someone to my blog and it showed me all the results that person got when they searched the word ‘divorce’. Out of all of the articles on that page, my article from John Piper about working through reconciliation was the only one on reconciliation while all the others were pro divorce. And this person clicked on my link and read what Piper had to say. God speaks through many ways and I pray He directs us in everything we post, that His Name get the glory and the honor.

If you have not had the chance or taken the time to look around, click on some of the links like ONLINE BOOKS, APOLOGETICS, DAVID PLATT (one of the most faithful servants of God in our times) or simply type a word into the search box near the top of the blog page and join us in meditating on God’s word.

In conclusion, I thank my Lord for a loving husband who works alongside, even when he is tired from his daily job. I thank my Lord for having had a father who instilled in me the love for Christ and His word and for four decades of always having had 90.1 WMBI christian radio on 24 hours a day, whether at home or in the car where we heard thousands of sermons since we were very little. I thank my Lord for His love and guidance and most of all for the gift of salvation! I praise you Lord:

Psalm 100

1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!

3Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!

5 For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

I would like to end with the song that I started, one year ago. It is the song „Unto the Lamb’ and it has special significance because the name of this blog is „agnus dei” , translated from Latin it means „Lamb of God”.  John wrote in John 1:29 –
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, „Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! The song is written from

Revelation 5:11-14

11Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numberingmyriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12saying with a loud voice, „Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” 13And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, „To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”14And the four living creatures said, „Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
