John 12:12-13 – Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King

12 The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. 13They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

“Hosanna!”

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Blessed is the king of Israel!”

Some Greeks seek Jesus. He responds to unbelievers, weeps over Jerusalem, enters and looks around the temple area, and then returns to Bethany.

(1) Tears of Sovereign Mercy– Jesus weeps over Jerusalem Luke 19:28-44

(2) He (Jesus) sets His face to go to Jerusalem (Palm Sunday)

I see the king of glory
Coming down the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes, the whole earth shakes
I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing, the people sing

Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna in the highest

I see a generation
Rising up to take the place
With selfless faith, with selfless faith
I see a new revival
Staring as we pray and seek
We’re on our knees, we’re on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart for what is yours
Everything I am for your kingdom’s cause
As I walk from earth into eternity

Do you know that HIll song is part of a rabid Prosperity Gospel Church?
Those are the „christians” that only read the left side of the Bible and the New Testament is only as long as John 3:16 …

I’m not so sure about that. They are an Assemblies of God church from what I remember and although I haven’t heard Pastor Brian Houston preach recently, I did listen to a few of his sermons about 10 years ago and (at least at that time) I don’t remember any such doctrine of the prosperity Gospel being preached there at all. Maybe it’s changed. I googled his name + properity Gospel and didn’t come up with much except for apprising ministries saying Brian Houston preached at a Prosperity Conference

If they are headed in that direction, it is horrible and given the lavish lifestyles of the American megachurch pastors, not surprising for a church of 14,000 members. But I also want to be careful in whom we label with that label because just yesterday I read a reformed article laughing at Pentecostals because they believe prayer can heal. No, Pentecostals don’t believe prayer can heal, but they believe in praying to God for healing. So this person was labeling all Pentecostals „word faith” because of the belief in healing and mistakenly identifying them with the prosperity gospel as well (because they pray to God for a job, or help with their bills- obviously this person is well off themselves if they never had to pray to God for help with their finances) So I am very careful about theses watchdog ministries too, because there’s a lot of denominational elitism driving their agenda.

To prove my point on the same page where I read about Houston attending this conference they also smacked Piper for inviting Warren to Desiring God for their own conference. So does that make Piper a heretic now? I can see 100 years from now, people who have no idea who Piper was reading something like that and making uninformed decision based on someone’s online criticism and they couldn’t be more wrong. That is why on our blog we proclaim the Gospel and leave the other stuff to the others. (Although I also think the watchdog ministries do have their place and value in keeping the focus on sound theology)

Hmm… Rodi , if anyone asks me if I am a member of a pentecostal church I would make sure that say I am a romanian pentecostal not an AOG pentecostal or COG.
These names have been compromised too much to associate with them anymore…… TBN trashed it ……..
I will let their own videos speak … I could put more …

Charles Spurgeon | “Someone was asking, the other day, how it was that the church, nowadays, was not so separate from the world as it used to be; and one who heard the question suggested that, possibly, the world had grown better; but another more truly said that, probably, the church had grown worse.”

Charles Spurgeon did not see the above videos

Ok, I see. It’s not as nauseating as others, but still very inappropriate. By the way the hill song youtube account is not the church’s, it belongs to someone who of course labels Houston as all Pentecostals in the other videos and does some shady things himself in putting together the videos. You’ll have to excuse me for just putting the links through because both videos are nauseating enough that I don’t want the images shown on my blog, as I would never post such rubbish! What are these people thinking? And Ed Young has all those tattoos and he’s showing them off? Unbelievable. No wonder everywhere I look I am not seeing much of a celebration of Christ’s death and resurrection, I went to Young’s home page and no Easter mention or message. I also went to Hillsong.com and no Easter mention or message on their homepage either.

This reminds me of a scene from those Left Behind movies, which were very accurate by the way, scenes of churches who get together and Jesus is never even mentioned. If we don’t even remember Christ’s death and resurrection at Easter anymore, then it does not bode well for Christians.

      Matthew 7:13-14

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I guess I tend to forget the meaning of a few.
