Islam is currently the world’s second fastest growing religion and is gaining influence across North America. In light of this, there is a clear need for the church to be both informed and engaged. But how do we respond to this challenge?  How do we plan to reach Muslims in our own communities?

With this in mind, RZIM is hosting an event called A Summit on Islam in January 2013.

We hope to present an overview of Islamic beliefs, Muslim agendas in various areas, and what the church is doing, or not doing, to address some serious needs.

A team of well-qualified speakers will address issues on the Bible and the Qur’an, on the treatment and role of women, and on the relationship of the gospel to Muslims and other vital topics. Sessions will be both plenary and in breakout format, and will allow room for questions.

We are seeking church leaders or those whose life and experience brings them into regular interactions with Islam or Muslims. If you are a civic leader or in an academic context, then this is also for you.

It is our intent to listen, to learn, and to seek ways and means for a more shared and broader response. We don’t want this to be merely about education or about ideas, but about an appropriate response.

If you are interested or can recommend a key leader who would be, we’d love for you to join us in Orlando.

Agnus Dei: Happy Second Anniversary – Doi ani bloguind pe WordPress

My message this evening, from WordPress: Happy Anniversary!

You registered on 2 years ago!

Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging!

lion and lamb blogAgnus Dei, two years ago, our family undertook a serious endeavor to blog and lift up the name of Christ. We chose the name Agnus Dei, which in Latin means ‘Lamb of God.’ Wow, two years and  2,650 posts later with 648,000 page hits, we just want to stop for a moment and praise the Lord for His faithfulness and for the blessings we get from doing this work of love, bringing forth and sharing by posting sermons, conferences, apologetics lectures and Bible study materials, occasional songs of praise and christian news items. Although we registered the blog on December 3rd, 2010, our first post did not get publicized until December 9th- a blog about the deity of Jesus Christ, titled: Who do you say that I am?

We want to sincerely thank you, our readers for your faithfulness and we are so encouraged to know that we have so many brothers and sisters out there, who likewise have a hunger and a thirst for the Word of God which drives you to read more, listen to more sermons and spend your free time endeavoring and striving to meditate on God’s word and to read materials from those saints who have gone before us. But ultimately, we want to give all praise and honor to  our God, the Father, His Son and our redeemer, our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for being with us and in us and guiding us through our journey to God’s kingdom.

We thought you might be interested and encouraged in seeing the different countries that have visited this blog. Here is the breakdown of unique visits by country- this counter only counts when a new visitor (computer) enters the blog and only counts that computer once and in the particular country they are accessing the blog from. It helps to let us know where our new visitors are coming from. So special thanks to Romania (our home country), who happens to have our largest readership base-

Our very first blog post from 2 years ago was our very first blog post, two years ago when we started blogging here at Agnus Dei. Back then, my dad was one of the biggest driving forces in starting it. One year later, my dad would go on to meet the Lord and leave behind his wonderful christian book library with thousands of volumes to help us in finding helpful and edifying materials to post. Dad, you are still sorely missed…

agnus dei - english + romanian blog

Once when Jesus was traveling with His disciples He asked them ‘Who do people say that I am?’ Wherever Jesus went, large crowds of people followed Him and they witnessed the miracles He performed and they observed the words He spoke in His sermons. Many of the people probably wondered who Jesus was.  But then in Luke 9:18-20 Jesus asks Peter, His disciple, ‘Who do you say that I am?’ and Peter answers ‘God’s Messiah’! Peter spoke with lots of conviction, yet his faith had a long way to go, there would even come a point in his life later where he would deny that he even knew Jesus. Peter and the disciples would become men of faith after they saw the resurrected Christ and it was then they could profess that Jesus was truly the Son of God.

In every age since the first followers of Jesus made their…
