Ravi Zacharias in Portland, Oregon / Vancouver, Washington – January 18 & 19, 2013 at the Mission ConneXion NW

I already posted this announcement, but I have found new details thanks to the heads up on this by Gabi Bogdan:

One big detail I did not know of and therefore did not mention is that the conference is FREE However, you do have to print out a free ticket here, complete the form and bring it with you to the event- http://www.missionconnexion.com/event-news

Furthermore, the organizers seem very, very welcoming, even urging to bring the young and the old to this conference. So here’s a few more details you should know:

Ravi Zacharias will be a key note speaker at the Mission ConneXion Northwest Conference taking place on the 18th and 19th of January.

According to the website- Mission ConneXion Northwest is the „Great Commission in action!” Sponsored by churches from the region, it is a two day event challenging the Church to fulfill the Great Commission. Its three-fold purpose is to inform, celebrate, and challenge people of all ages to get involved in missions by sending, praying, giving and going.

One great thing is that the conference is free and is open to the young and the old. (They are sponsored by local sponsoring churches which make an annual contribution, organizations pay a rental fee for exhibit space, and people who attend are invited to make donations.

There will be 127 workshops to choose from, everyone will find something which fits their passions and interests. In addition to 25 different workshop tracks, we will also feature two showings of the film Un|Divided. (The movie is about the work of Kevin Palau with among other things a public high school that was going to be closed b/c it was so dilapidated and 20% of its students were homeless. In April 2008, Kevin Palau, President of the Portland-based Luis Palau Association, launched “A Season of Service” – a citywide program where volunteers from local churches mobilize to meet the physical needs in their communities. The program had the support of Portland’s mayor and Kevin recruited churches to volunteer during the summer months to do community projects – one of which was at Roosevelt High School.

We have the annual favorite workshop tracks such as Islam, Apologetics, Prayer and Spiritual Warfare, as well as the Persecuted Church. Our keynote speakers will each be sharing at a workshop as well as the main sessions. This year, we are pleased to introduce two brand new workshop tracks: Education in Missions, sponsored by Multnomah University, and Mormonism. Other relevant tracks include Jesus and Justice, Orality (Storytelling), Business as Mission, Sports Ministry, Gospel Movements and Take Action Locally. To equip your missional toolbox, be sure to attend foundational sessions such as Financing Missions, Short-term Missions, Unreached People and Missionary Care.
