Rob Bell interviewed on the Unbelievable Broadcast

English: Rob Bell at the 2011 Time 100 gala.

Rob Bell, former founder and pastor of Mars Hill Church up until 2012, has just released a new book earlier this month, titled ‘What we talk about when we talk about God‘. This follows his prior book „love Wins’ which stirred up controversy over the idea of universalism and the existence of hell. In this interview, done right after the release of his newest book, Andrew Wilson debates Rob Bell on God, Salvation & Homosexuality on Justin Brierly’s radio show ‘Unbelievable’ which airs in the UK. (You can listen to the interview at the link above the video). In the video, Dr. Oakley of Alpha and Omega Ministries (website www.aomin.org) examines Rob Bell’s interview and his statements on several points.

From Dr. Oakley:

Dr. Oakley reviews Rob Bell’s appearance on Justin Brierley’s Unbelievable Radio Broadcast recently. The discussion turned to his new position on homosexuality, and Mr. Bell demonstrated that his position is one of cultural compromise, not biblical reflection. To read up or learn more about Rob Bell and the issues surrounding his views on universalism and hell, see the links below the video.

Rob Bell is out of control. Profanity, twisting scripture, leftist nonbiblical theology, „one giant hair-ball” used to describe Paul’s position on homosexuality. Unbelievable.

Like the commentator says: ahistorical rhetoric on gay marriage.

Definitely a wolf and a false teacher.

„healthy same-sex relationship” WOW. LOL. That is unbelievable.

most shocking is when Bell seemed to outright question Jesus’s judgment and interpretation of Leviticus. This after he stated that Jesus said nothing on the subject. I listened to Dr. Oakley first and I was hoping when I listen to the original interview it is not as bad as the chopped up clips Dr. Oakley presented, and it was much worse, cringeworthy to listen to it.

He may well be heading in that direction. We’ve seen it too many times and it seems to follow the pattern others have had, who have taken steps towards coming out. The Christian Post links to an article about John Polk, the ex-gay leader of Exodus International, who has recently claimed that the Bible is not about making gay people straight. Well, just this week Huff Post says he accepts his gayness and has divorced his wife (probably gone back to the lifestyle long ago, as he mistakenly believes that God accepts him just as he is). It is a sad reminder of 2 Cor. 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Can you believe that this guy was the pastor of thousands, and they did not smell him, and if they did, they did not kick him out!

He had the most rapidly growing church in America! That tells you something about the qualities of these Christians in these churches praised by TIME magazine like the one Bell used to pastor…

apparently, they did finally replace him, even though they didn’t say it publicly. He is very frustrating to listen to, because he is very evasive in his answers, so imagine the church elders trying to pinpoint him on what he truly believes- it must have been an exasperating ordeal. And then, there had to also be some that liked his new evasive theology, no doubt.
