STEVEN BENNETT: If you generally care about ‘family’ and you inform yourself, I genuinely believe you will reach the same conclusion as I did: it is impossible to remain indifferent in the face of such gross human rights violations, systematic and institutionalised abuse towards families, carried out by Norway’s CPS, Barnevernet.

From Steven Bennett I know there are people who cannot believe that human rights are repeatedly violated in Norway and who hesitate supporting the Bodnariu family or other families whose children have been seized by the Norwegian CPS, Barnevernet, because they are just not sure who is right.

After researching Norway’s CPS and CPS systems in other countries as well, after hours of watching interviews, reading articles, making friends and acquaintances, and getting informed, a well known quote by Elie Wiesel, a Holocaust survivor, came to mind.

„Of course, indifference can be tempting – more than that, seductive. It is so much easier to look away from victims. It is so much easier to avoid such rude interruptions to our work, our dreams, our hopes. It is, after all, awkward, troublesome, to be involved in another person’s pain and despair. Yet, for the person who is indifferent, his or her neighbours are of no consequence. And, therefore, their lives are meaningless (……) indifference is always the friend of the enemy, for it benefits the aggressor – never his victim, whose pain is magnified when he or she feels forgotten.”

If you are not sure if the Bodnariu parents deserve to get their children back and that Barnevernet needs a complete overhaul, then spend some time becoming informed, but do not judge the situation before you are truly informed.

If you generally care about ‘family’ and you inform yourself, I genuinely believe you will reach the same conclusion as I did: it is impossible to remain indifferent in the face of such gross human rights violations, systematic and institutionalised abuse towards families, carried out by Norway’s CPS, Barnevernet.

Being part of a protest in your area is a small thing, but it could have a BIG, BIG impact. My hope and prayers are that the Norwegian state intervenes and will reform their broken and destructive CPS system, Barnevernet, in order to avoid further traumatising, tormenting and destroying innocent children from healthy families.

I’m really proud of many of my Austrian friends and family as well. There was a time, when Austrian citizens turned a blind eye and even actively and without much effort supported Hitler’s regime and plans. But, many have learnt from their past and it makes me so proud that so many Austrians are not making that same mistake again. Ten thousand are expected at the protest in Vienna alone.

Get informed, get involved and go to a protest in your area on Sat 16 April 2016! Stand up for the children, parents and all the families in Norway!
