FOTO   Donald Trump shakes hands with Jerry Falwell Jr., president of Liberty University

Introduced by Mike Huckabee, in attendance, Marco Rubio and LGBT activists protested outside.

A few notes from a couple, three highlights of Donald Trump’s speech:

4th minute – Jerry Falwell Jr. (pictured above) about his father’s decision to endorse Ronald Reagan over Jimmy Carter. Apparently, Jerry Falwell took heat from churches for not endorsing Jimmy Carter who was an evangelical and a former Sunday School teacher.

8th minute – Christianity has had a very tough time. In Syria, before the migration, if you were a Christian in Syria, it was virtually impossible to come into the United States. If you were a muslim from Syria, it was one of the easier countries  to be able to find your way into the United States.

-losing tax exempt status if a church get involved in politics – the law passed under the Lyndon Johnson administration when he had problems with criticism from one or more churches in HOUSTON and he wanted to silence the church. Johnson got the law approved and he basically silenced the church and the ministers, the rabbi’s, the priest and people of religion. It’s strange that the churches did nothing about it. (16th minute) Trump (paraphrased) : You know, this wasn’t taken away from our Constitution, when our great forefathers went out and wrote it. This was Lyndon Johnson in the 1970’s. I’m going to take this in my own hands and I’m going to figure a way that we can get you back your freedom of speech that was taken away. I respect Lyndon Johnson. He was a very toguh cookie and he silenced his adversaries.
