Suffering Brokenness makes me and you more beautiful

Psalm 66:10-12 ESV

For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs; you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.

Zechariah 13:9 ESV

And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.

1 Peter 1:7 ESV

So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

This is one good way to look at the suffering we go through. The Japanese don’t hide the brokenness an object has suffered, instead they highlight it by filling it with gold. May God help us to look at our own suffering that way. Every crack that God has filled, shines as a testament to  His hand guiding us through it. He has been with some us even in the valley of the shadow of death. And He promised He will never leave us!

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.

how Japanese mend broken objects

Cand Japonezii repara  obiecte fisurate, ei scot in relief aceste fisuri umplandu-le cu aur. Ei cred ca atunci cand un obiect s-a spart si are o istorie, el devine si mai frumos.
