O singura cauza ma insufleteste sa imi doresc sa raman pe acest pamant: semenii care au nevoie sa cunoasca dragostea lui Dumnezeu. Revarsarea Duhului Sfant iti aduce o cauza pentru care sa traiesti: sa semeni credinta in aproapele tau! Filipeni 1:25 „Şi sunt încredinţat şi ştiu că voi rămâne şi voi trăi cu voi toţi, pentru înaintarea şi bucuria credinţei voastre;”

Sa iti dai viata pentru o cauza inseamna sa pretuiesti cauza mai mult decat viata insasi. Pentru o singura cauza merita sa mori: pentru Numele Lui: Faptele apostolilor 21:13 „Atunci Pavel a răspuns: „Ce faceţi de plângeţi aşa şi-mi rupeţi inima? Eu sunt gata nu numai să fiu legat, dar chiar să şi mor în Ierusalim pentru Numele Domnului Isus.” Cand Duhul Sfant s-a revarsat peste ucenici au fost gata sa isi dea viata pentru Numele Domnului Isus.

Revarsarea Duhului Sfant ma lumineaza sa inteleg pentru ce trebuie sa traiesc si pentru cine merita sa mor…!

Lumea nu crede decât în legea reciprocităţii de aceea în momentul în care tratezi răul cu bine, mecanismul gândirii mărunte se dereglează.

Scopul nu-i să ajungă vrăjmaşul în iad.

Cărbunii aprinşi nu de acolo sunt, ci să-l faci să înţeleagă că Dumnezeu gândeşte altfel.

Şi tu gândeşti ca El.

Reîmprospătându-ne Memoria

Isus de asemenea a promis că Duhul Sfânt ne va aduce aminte versete şi pasaje de care avem nevoie la un moment dat. Acest lucru în mod sigur s-a întâmplat cu ucenicii. În Ioan 2:22 citim: “Tocmai de aceea, când a înviat din morţi, ucenicii Lui şi-au adus aminte că le spusese vorbele acestea; şi au crezut Scriptura şi cuvintele pe care le spusese Isus.” Isus le-a spus că Duhul Sfânt le va împrospăta memoria, şi El a făcut-o. Ioan 12:16 spune: “Ucenicii Săi nu au înţeles aceste lucruri de la început; dar după ce a fost proslăvit Isus, şi-au adus aminte că aceste lucruri erau scrise despre El, şi că ei le împliniseră cu privire la El.” Nu au înţeles la început despre ce vorbea Isus. însă mai târziu, după ce Isus a fost proslăvit, Duhul Sfânt le-a adus aminte ce spusese Domnul. El i-a ajutat să pună totul cap la cap.

Cât de recunoscător sunt că Duhul Sfânt continuă să lucreze şi astăzi! Vorbeai vreodată cu cineva şi dintr-o dată ai început să citezi versete din Biblie pe care nici nu ştiai că le ştii? Mi se întâmplă deseori. Încep să citez un pasaj din Biblie şi pur şi simplu o ţin în continuare, chiar dacă nu realizasem că memorasem acele versete. Şi totuşi, în acel moment Duhul Sfânt îmi aduce aminte de acel pasaj în special.

El face acelaşi lucru şi în perioadele de nevoie. Probabil că treci printr-o încercare şi te simţi copleşit şi stresat, când dintr-o dată un pasaj din Scriptură îţi vine în minte şi este perfect pentru acea situaţie. Duhul Sfânt îţi aduce aminte lucrurile lui Dumnezeu şi căile lui Dumnezeu. El este acolo pentru a te ajuta, învăţându-te. Este o lucrare remarcabilă şi glorioasă.

Căutând Pepite

Este un privilegiu extraordinar să studiezi Biblia. Este o carte minunată. Cu cât o studiez mai mult, cu atât mai mult mă uimeşte. Este de ajutor în studierea Bibliei să cercetezi limbile originale. Astfel că poţi stoarce unele nuanţe ale textului, micile pepite ce nu se traduc bine în engelză.

Sunt recunoscător că propriul meu studiu de limbă greacă mi-a dat posibilitatea din când în când să găsesc aceste binecuvântate pepite ale adevărului. Am spus că am studiat greaca, nu că am învăţat-o. Nu sunt un lingvist înnăscut. Limbile străine sunt extrem de dificile pentru mine. Am aptitudini în alte arii, dar nu în lingvistică. Totuşi, am învăţat destulă greacă încât pot săpa şi se merită săpat pentru a găsi aceste pepite din când în când. Cred expresia care zice: “Greblatul e uşor, dar găseşti numai frunze, pe când săpatul e mai greu, dar s-ar putea să găseşti diamante.”

Şi totuşi, am descoperit că uneori oamenii găsesc diamante fără să sape!

Când eram păstor cu ani în urmă în Huntington Beach, am avut o binecuvântată sfântă în biserică ce a ajuns doar până în clasa a şasea. O, cum Îl iubea pe Domnul! Studiam cartea Galateni şi săpam în versiunea din greacă încercând din răsputeri să găsesc aceste pepite ale adevărului. În cele din urmă găseam una şi mă gândeam, vai ce bine e să ştii puţină greacă! Însă, înainte de a putea împărtăşi pepita descoperită, această femeie dragă deseori zicea: “Frate Smith, citeam ieri în Galateni şi mă gândeam – hmm, asta ar trebui să însemne… – şi expunea acelaşi adevăr la care trudisem atât de greu ca să-l descopăr. Trudeam toată noaptea să încerc să devin mai bun în greacă şi ea înţelege fără boabă de greacă!

Şi totuşi la asta se referea Isus când a zis că Duhul Sfânt ne va învăţa. El le spune ucenicilor: “Nu trebuie să vă temeţi că nu veţi înţelege Scripturile. Aşa cum v-am învăţat Eu, tot aşa vă va învăţa şi Duhul Sfânt.”

Un copil al lui Dumnezeu plin de Duhul Sfânt, îndrăgostit de Domnul şi de Cuvântul Lui, este un ghid mai adevărat în adevărul lui Dumnezeu decât un oarecare ce are doctoratul dar care nu e născut din nou, însă care ştie limbile originale. Încercând să înţelegi Biblia separat de ajutorul Duhului Sfânt te va duce la tot soiul de lucruri ciudate.

I Ioan 2:27 spune: “Cât despre voi, ungerea pe care aţi primit-o de la El (Duhul Sfânt), rămâne în voi, şi n-aveţi trebuinţă să vă înveţe cineva.” Este interesant acest lucru pentru că fiecare cult insistă că ai nevoie de un om să te înveţe. Aceste culte încearcă din răsputeri să-ţi vândă cărţile şi să te facă să le citeşti materialele. De ce este aşa de necesar? Pentru că dacă nu ai fi condus de ei prin cărţile lor, singur nu ai putea ajunge la aceleaşi interpretări aiurite.

Nu mi-e teamă de ceea ce va crede cineva dacă va citi doar Biblia. Nu am nici o remuşcare dacă zic: “Citeşte Cuvântul.” Cred că pe măsură ce citim Biblia şi Îi cerem Duhului Sfânt să ne înveţe şi să ne instruiască inimile, El ne va conduce în tot adevărul.

Bineînţeles, Dumnezeu ne-a dat învăţători şi păstori bisericii “pentru desăvârşirea sfinţilor, în vederea lucrării de slujire” (Efeseni 4:12). Dar chiar dacă un învăţător dăruit ar explica clar adevărul Cuvântului lui Dumnezeu, dacă Duhul Sfânt nu aduce mărturie în inima ta, nu vei putea învăţa. Duhul Sfânt este cel ce ne învaţă Scripturile. Cât de minunat este să-L avem pe Autorul Scripturilor să ne ajute să înţelegem ce a scris!

I’d like to talk about a Trinitarian revolution of the heart. God is always at work and is wanting to do more (not just in the sense of the measurable increments) …but in what we can do. He is always wanting to show up in a way, to move in a way that makes it clear to everyone that these people did not do this on their own and when that happens, glory comes to God. God gets the glory in the church.

Talks about people who are afraid of the third part of the trinity- the Holy Spirit. He makes 2 points – People don’t speak or celebrate Pentecost (even though around the world people count the 50 days from Easter and praise God for the day when the Holy Spirit came and blew the church away. You remember that it is a trinitarian thing that empowers the church’s ministry. The Holy Spirit leads us to truth (John 14) And, He will testify  to Jesus. And, by the way, the Holy Spirit is a Person. He is not an „it”.  When the Holy Spirit comes, he doesn’t make much about the Holy Spirit, he’s gonna make it all about Jesus. The Holy Spirit loves to testify about Jesus. In a Spirit filled church you are talking all about Jesus. And when the city hears Jesus’ name and not your (church) name big things are going to happen.

 

10 Reasons to Desire All the Spiritual Gifts

Some might tell you not to really desire all the spiritual gifts. But when you say that, it does not seem to do justice to what 1 Corinthians 12–14 really says.

The apostle bookends his famous chapter on love (1 Corinthians 13) with these two (perhaps surprising) charges: “earnestly desire the higher gifts” and “earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 12:31; 1 Corinthians 14:1). God means that we desire all of his gifts, not to glut our selfishness, but to selflessly strengthen others — “so that the church may be built up” (1 Corinthians 14:5).

Here are ten ways and reasons from the New Testament to desire all the spiritual gifts, not just the comfortable ones.

1. Desire all the spiritual gifts because you desire God himself. “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7).
2. Desire all the spiritual gifts, knowing that “the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13; cf. 2 Thessalonians 1:3). Compared to other “higher gifts” (such as tongues, healing, and prophecy†), love is “a still more excellent way” (1 Corinthians 12:31).
3. Desire all the spiritual gifts because you need him to overcome the satanic fear that dwells in your heart (2 Timothy 1:6–7). As Sam Storms writes, “My opposition to spiritual gifts was also energized by fear . . . [like] the fear of what might occur were I fully to relinquish control of my life and mind and emotions to the Holy Spirit” (The Beginner’s Guide to Spiritual Gifts, 10).
4. Desire all the spiritual gifts, knowing that discernment is needed. “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:19–20). “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1; cf. 1 Corinthians 14:29–32).
5. Therefore, desire all the spiritual gifts, knowing that good things can be twisted and corrupted. But, as Storms says, “abuse is no excuse for disuse” (Convergence: The Spiritual Journeys of a Charismatic Calvinist, 206).
6. Desire all the spiritual gifts because God commands it (1 Corinthians 12:31; 14:1, 39). In fact, God tells us, “Do not forbid speaking in tongues” (1 Corinthians 14:39) and, “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies” (1 Thessalonians 5:19–20).
7. Desire all the spiritual gifts, knowing that “all things should be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).
8. Desire all the spiritual gifts because you long for God’s people to be as built up and encouraged and consoled as is pleasing to him (1 Corinthians 14:3). In fact, “since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church” (1 Corinthians 14:12). In other words, desire the gift of prophecy in order to build up and encourage and console others, in order to have a greater manifestation of the Spirit of God himself.
9. Desire all the spiritual gifts, knowing that prophesying and casting out demons is no sure sign of being known by God (Matthew 7:22–23).
10. Desire all the spiritual gifts, knowing that suffering will come. First, just as God did with Paul, he may choose to afflict you so that you might not become wickedly proud because of your great giftings (2 Corinthians 12:7). Secondly, the world, the flesh, and the devil will all fight against a greater manifestation of God through his Spirit in your life because of these gifts.

†Storms writes, “The gift of tongues is simply the Spirit-energized ability to pray, worship, give thanks or speak in a language other than your own or one you might have learned in school” (Beginner’s Guide, 151), and new-covenant prophecy is “‘the human report of a divine revelation.’ Prophecy is the speaking forth in merely human words of something God has spontaneously brought to mind” (110).

by Wayne Grudem – Paul says that if we have the gift of prophecy, we should use it “in proportion to our faith” (Rom. 12:6), indicating that the gift can be more or less strongly developed in different individuals, or in the same individual over a period of time. This is why Paul can remind Timothy, “Do not neglect the gift you have” (1 Tim. 4:14), and can say, “I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you” (2 Tim. 1:6). It was possible for Timothy to allow his gift to weaken, apparently through infrequent use, and Paul reminds him to stir it up by using it and thereby strengthening it. This should not be surprising, for we realize that many gifts increase in strength and effectiveness as they are used, whether evangelism, teaching, encouraging, administration, or faith.

Texts such as these indicate that spiritual gifts may vary in strength. If we think of any gift, whether teaching or evangelism on the one hand, or prophecy or healing on the other, we should realize that within any congregation there will likely be people who are very effective in the use of that gift, perhaps through long use and experience, others who are moderately strong in that gift, and others who probably have the gift but are just beginning to use it. This variation in strength in spiritual gifts depends on a combination of divine and human influence. The divine influence in the sovereign working of the Holy Spirit as he “apportions to each one individually as he wills” (1 Cor. 12:11). The human influence comes from experience, training, wisdom, and natural ability in the use of that gift. It is usually not possible to know in what proportion the divine and human influences combine at any one time, nor is it really necessary to know, for even the abilities we think to be “natural” are from God (1 Cor. 4:7) and under his sovereign control.

But this leads to an interesting question: how strong does an ability have to be before it can be called a spiritual gift? How much teaching ability does someone need before he or she could be said to have a gift of teaching, for example? Or how effective in evangelism would someone need to be before we would recognize a gift of evangelism? Or how frequently would someone have to see prayers for healing answered before he or she could be said to have a gift of healing?
